My Argument Farming vs. Genetically Modified Food
I feel that the government should insure that the foods that we purchase from our grocery stores, is organic as to genetically modified. When we eat genetically modified food our bodies can not break the foods down to extract the minerals that our bodies need. Over the years of eating genetcally modified foos most people are lackiong in vitamins such as iron etc. They should not allow private companies to own or buy up all the seeds to manipulate the growing process. This process not only has affected our bodies but also trying to grow our own foods, it will not let the seeds that are coming from the veggies to grow again the following Spring. These companies have also cross breed the seed with pork, because this helps speed up the process and growth to keep up with the growth of the population they claim. If this continues, eventually are bodies will start to break down from lack of things our bodies need. Our bodies will start to take away from the muscles and our bones.

The Bystander Effect
One of my first experiences of "The Bystander Effect", I was shocked, not only the situation, but with the witnesses that did nothing. As I came out of my Grandmothers home there was two young teens fighting in the middle of the street. I saw about twenty people just standing around and watching. The ages varied from teens to middle aged folk. The two girls were fighting head to head and then they were on the ground, while one girl slammed the other girls head into the pavement. All I could think to myself was she is going to die right in front of all these people. I ran and yelled stop fighting, and the crowed got angry at me. They did not want the fight to stop until they saw blood or someone was getting hauled of to jail. Most of them I could tell wanted to stop it but was to afraid. I know if it was just them and no other Bystanders they would have stopped it. This has a very dangerous effect on people.

Self-Regulatory Behavior
Procrastination! My regulatory behavior is procrastination. I am a serious procrastinator. I have always put things off until the last minute. For some reason, I have a list of things to do and I say to myself I can do them; I'll just do it tomorrow. By the time I realize that tomorrow came and went the due dates for my projects are due. I have struggled with this complex for some time. I think I have improved on getting things done in a timely manner.
My wife says when we first met I was more organized and I had things in order, even though I would wait until the last minute to do them. Now I realized that I have slacked because she is so organized, I leave most things up to her to remind me. She suggested last semester that I use a calender to log all of my assignments and their due dates. Since I have taken her advice I can see that it is hard to continue on my path as being a procrastinator. My alarms and notifications are going off to remind me of what due next. By the time I finish with school; I hope to have put this handicap behind me.

My Reading History
As achild my Mom read Bible stories to me. They were interesting and exciting. My Dad on the other hand felt it important, that in order to have a better understanding of what you read; you need a deeper conept of words. He would have my siblings and I look up 10 words a day, write them in sentences in addition to our homework. As a child it helped me acheive A's, but I started to dislike reading and homework. I would not do the work to learn it, I would do it just for the A. As I matured I saw that what my Dad tried to instill in me was truly important, and so I started to read more on my free time. At this point in my life I do enjoy reading non-fiction books.
