Self-Regulatory Behavior

Procrastination! My regulatory behavior is procrastination. I am a serious procrastinator. I have always put things off until the last minute. For some reason, I have a list of things to do and I say to myself I can do them; I'll just do it  tomorrow. By the time I realize that tomorrow came and went the due dates for my projects are due. I have struggled with this complex for some time. I think I have improved on getting things done in a timely manner.
My wife says when we first met I was more organized and I had things in order, even though I would wait until the last minute to do them. Now I realized that I have slacked because she is so organized, I leave most things up to her to remind me. She suggested last semester that I use a calender to log all of my assignments and their due dates. Since I have taken her advice I can see that it is hard to continue on my path as being a procrastinator. My alarms and notifications are going off to remind me of what due next. By the time I finish with school; I hope to have put this handicap behind me.

  1. Smart wife! It's good to have positive support around you when you are a student. It sounds like you are headed in the right directions. Time management challenges many people, but you seem to be using electronic tools and a "paper" planner. You may find that it's hard to manage two systems. I used to do that and I would write things in one place and not the other and I just confused myself. I just use my phone now.
